Epiphany - Chalking the Door 20201  


The Feast of Epiphany (January 6) celebrates the coming of the Magi to visit the newborn king. Chalking the Door can be a sacred act and moment as you gather the family at the entrances to your home and ask God’s blessing on all who live or visit you.

You inscribe the lintel of the dwelling with the inscription: 20 + C + M + B + 21 – The letters C M B come from the traditional names for the “three kings” – Caspar, Melchoir, and Balthazar. The Latin phrase: “Christus Mansionem Benedicat” which means “May Christ bless this dwelling.
